I am thrilled to share this new BLOG with you. As you can see from the heading I have just started a new business, sarah compton home staging + design.
After working on 105 Walnut Street (a re-build project with Ed Leary) this past spring and summer, I hit upon the idea of house staging (with encouragement from my favorite realtor, David Shed). The idea of helping people prepare their homes to sell or re-designing a room to work better for a family resonates with my experience and background and passion for space and design.
What is home staging you wonder...
Home staging is the art of preparing a home for the real estate market. Staging is more than redecorating – it is a process of creating an inviting neutral atmosphere by an objective eye to that allows potential buyers to envision possibilities of living there.
Why Stage?
Because the first impression a property makes on a prospective buyer, can be the deciding factor as to whether or not they will make an offer or continue to search.
Regardless of the list price, when a property is effectively staged, a buyer will focus on the attributes and architectural highlights of the featured property.
Moving is a stressful time and therefore the less you have to worry about the better. By having a home staged you can spend time on important tasks before, during and after the move.
